It’s that time of year when all thoughts and efforts go back to getting on track with weight. We are no longer motivated by repentance and guilt, but rather by belt size and the seemingly unattainable goal of fitting into our favorite skinny jeans. We’ve all been there, myself included, whether it’s just five pounds or 50. We imagine how wonderful life would be if we could only fit into our special jeans once again. And whether you want to make a million dollars, win a race, get married or fit into those skinny jeans this year, achieving these goals takes commitment. But it can be hard to accomplish these feats on your own. However, keep reading and hopefully our tips will guide you down the path to success.

How to get back into your skinny jeans…
It’s nearly every woman’s desire and goal to fit into their skinny jeans again. Our jeans act as monitor for sense of health, fitness and even attractiveness. They symbolize a 20th century concept of youth, beauty and even sex appeal. Something so simple as a pair of jeans can make or break our day, affecting what we think of ourselves by increasing or decreasing feelings of self worth.

Keep in mind that the “yoyo effect” of gaining and losing repetitively can actually be more damaging than keeping on a few extra pounds. It’s hard on your body to constantly be in a state of starvation rather than one of feasting over and over again since it puts strain on all systems of the body. Surprisingly, according to an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, the Joslin Diabetes Center, lean muscle wasting is often associated with premature aging and debilitating diseases such as diabetes, cancer and AIDS. So how do we fit into those darn jeans without sacrificing our health?! Use the following do’s and don’ts as a great way to get started and stay committed:

  • Do eat proper amounts of protein and include weight resistance exercise. These elements are essential for healthy weight loss and maintenance.
